My Anchor

My heart pains deep within this mortal flesh.
It beats silently but cries in a voice of endless hope.
Like a tiny pebble lost in the oceans waves
I feel lost in God’s creation beneath a mountains massive slope.

Life is a gift to be enjoyed not riddled with pains of woe.
Like a vapor of steam slowly it fades away.
Joy is my deliverer and I will make it my final course
Faith is my constant companion, hope my anchor, and love a mainstay!

Who shall deliver me but faith, hope and love?
I cannot wing my way alone
Daily I am reminded who paid my sins debt for me.
My anchor is not a pebble but the Mighty Cornerstone!
