I Saw The Son Shine

His feet were calloused and blistered by the sun.
His hands were those of a carpenter Mary’s son yet destined to be the One.
His hair was long and flowed in strands around his shoulders broad.
The finest cloth that could be purchased surrounded his tall lean frame but without one flaw.
His eyes pierced to the heart of every woman, child and man.
He was God yet as a man He became God’s redemption plan.
I watched Him as He kissed the children that ran freely up to Him.
I saw Him feed five thousand when the effort looked so very dim.
He amazed me as I watched him break the five loaves of bread and when He was finished thousands were fed.
I stood alone watching as He called Lazarus body back from the dead.
Then I watched as Peter denied Him thrice just like Jesus said he would.
He performed miracles like no one else could.
He healed the leper and gave the blind man brand new eyes.
I watched the Holy Spirit desend upon Him from heaven’s skies.
I was there when He cursed the fig tree and it withered and died.
He was my creator placing me perfectly in space the moon and stars by my side.
I saw Him crucified and nailed upon a cross.
Did Lucifer not realize all his efforts were a loss?
I showed my respect for Jesus and refused to shine.
Then I saw my Creator draw the battle line.
I watched as He went into hell and set the captives free.
They felt my warmth upon their skin as they walked about happily.
Oh hallelujah! He died and rose again and it was all for YOU not me.
