Petals of Poetry

I sit watching the leaves fall outside my window.
Time is steadily passing by and I am helpless to stop it.
The waves still rush to the shore, the tide in constant flow.
Still I wonder if you ever think of me as I near the window sit.

Petals fall to the earth in colors of yellow and gold.
The breeze carries them as I watch them float.
It reminds me of the times underneath that tree you I would hold.
Long ago it was my heart your love smote.

Where are you now, I need to know?
Do you ever think of me and the love we shared?
If I were an angel I would fly and to you I would go.
Angels tread where lovers once dared.

Oh the petals of love and the grip they hold on me.
I see you in every rose as I walk by.
I see you in the petal on the blossoms in the apple tree.
Oh, how I love you and I still wonder why?

You took my precious petals of love.
Petals that only fall once in a lifetime.
Soft are the feathers and snowhite as the dove.
With words I pen precious petals in rhyme.

Walk with me just once more
Kiss away the cold.
Promise me forever that you’ll never leave my door.
Petals of poetry are forever ours to hold.

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow- Charles Collins

The colorful leaves had fallen everywhere in the yard at Charles Collins house.
As playful children of ten we loved sliding down the hills so slick in this mystical display from the trees.
The first time I met Charles I thought the angels had dropped him from heaven for to me his was so handsome my words got stuck in my mouth.
How could I know that we would be friends and classmates for generations and more
.
.
When God created Charles, He not only gave him the looks of a star but a quiet gentle soul everyone admired so.
I don’t know why God allows some of His creations to suffer year after year while facing death face to face.
I only know that Charles Collins was not just a man but a fighter of a disease that had no cure; He was a champion and hero.
Though his body was consumed with pain his quiet spirit could still captivate one from the beginning until the end.

So Charles you can now rest for you have finished your race down here.
You can meet Jesus face to face and spend time with Moses, Daniel, Peter and Paul.
Your feet can walk on the streets of gold and rejoice just knowing heaven is free of fears and tears.
We miss you even now but until we meet again in heaven just know you were loved when you didn’t even know it.

As a child you were just my hero.
As a student you were loved by us all.
As an author you are my inspiration to keep running this race here below.
As a friend I have to thank you for you always had a word of encouragement despite the situation.
So until I see you again rest and enjoy the wonders of heaven Jesus offers to those who belong to Him.

We will miss you but we celebrate the fact you are once again whole and free from any pain.
Heaven is filled with mansions each one meticulously made in heaven’s realm.
Yesterday, today and tomorrow, Charles Collins I am blessed to have you as a friend.
Mansions will glisten on the hills of glory.
Another child of God has joined around His throne.

I can only imagine how it feels to listen to Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego’s story.
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, Charles Collins I am blessed to have you as a friend.

A Friend To Us All- Terry McAnelly

A Friend To Us All–Terry McAnelly

My heart is so very saddened because God chose to take my dear friend home.
He wasn’t just another friend but a man with a sincere smile, joy and a sweet resounding song.
I remember so well growing up with Terry, his back pocket neatly holding his comb.
He tried to make us all feel school was just another place like home.

He brightened every classroom and was a friend to all.
I can’t remember a single day he let one person feel they walked alone.
I still remember his neat khaki pants and his freshly pressed pristine cotton shirts as we passed in the hall..
A smile crowned his face and soft words dropped from his lips in a sincere tone.

All the students at Forest Hills High School will never forget this precious gentle man.
Even as the years passed quickly by he never changed his values or his kind gentle hand.
God calls those who have finished their race here and angels sweep them into the promised land
But each time there is a deep loneliness and hurts as countless as oceans of sand..

My hands and heart reach out to give whatever it takes to overcome this great loss.
I know without a doubt he is happy and enjoying all the wondrous beauties of heaven.
His body is eternally whole because he believed in Jesus and the price He paid for him on the cross.
He is gone away for a little while but his memory will live on and one day we will all be reunited with him and our loved ones again.

Rest in peace my friend Terry; know our eyes are filled with tears and our hearts are missing you!
One of your many friends, Sybil Griffin Chappell Shearin

Popularity

I’m not popular with too many people
Because they don’t like the things I say
You see Jesus is my Lord and lives within my heart
When I talk HIS Word rolls off my tongue in some sort of way.

I am not rich and I don’t seek fame in my life.
This earth is not my home for I am on a journey now.
God told me to tell people about Jesus and how to be saved from a hellish eternity.
One day every person before God will have to bow.

So I’m not popular with some of the worldly kinds.
But I’d rather be His and have a mansion in heaven one day
Than to have friends who have no God and no Godly future.
You see one day on a hill called Calvary Jesus blood washed all my sins away.

Everyone has a debt that has to be paid
No matter how hard you work or how much money you make.
You will never be able to pay your sin debt to God.
But Jesus loved you enough to freely die for your sake.

How could someone love a murderer or a thief.
How could He look beyond our faults and see our needs?
The great I Am who is and has always been
Saves all Sinners if they choose Him and cancels out all their sinful deeds.

So if you are talking to me and my words about Him seem to just slip out.
It is not because I have a prepared script hidden inside somewhere.
It is because I met Jesus on a dusty road one day.
He took me just the way I was and saved me just because He cared.

The Melody of Grace

Grace 2
There was a small gentle lady that came to live beside of me.
Her gentle spirit and her sweet smile she shared so tenderly.
She drove me to school every morning and home in the afternoon.
I always looked forward to our talks and our funny songs so out of tune.
Hearts are now broken for the loss of this lady’s life and love.
Her departure has taken a great portion of her immortal love.
Precious memories fill a giant library book each page lined in silk
As we remember each memory it will make our hearts stand still.
God has chosen one of the most beautiful roses to place in His majestic garden.
Grace’s smile lifted  everyone even the ones depressed and down trodden.
I can’t imagine life without this sweet loving lady.
However there is a reunion in heaven welcoming her home with smiles and all the gaiety.
It is a journey we must all one day take.
So we work endlessly to leave special memories to drown out some of the heartbreak.
Mrs. Grace’s precious memory book is mighty and filled with all the love she could give.
She always made sure she left good memories for all of us who continue on earth to live.
To God Be The Glory
Great Things He Hath Done.
Now Mrs. Grace is with God’s only Son.
Resting from a weary journey she has finished with honors her final run.

Satan The Local Drug Dealer

the_blood_of_jesus
There was once the most beautiful of all angels in heaven so rare.
No other angel’s beauty could begin to compare.
Then all the spirits of darkness came into him to stay.
They are still living within him even to this day.
God in His mighty wisdom cast Satan out and great was his fall.
He took one third of the angels with him for he would be god of them all.
Decades have past and he continues to deceive.
He began in a beautiful garden to a woman whose name was Eve.
There is nothing on earth or heaven above that can match the deception of this one fallen creature.
He comes uninvited into your life acting as a godly teacher.
Yet in his heart his plan is to steal, destroy and to kill.
Lost souls in hell scream asking for one last chance and freedom of will.
Today he walks in the shadows watching every step you take.
He waits for years just for that moment you make a mistake
Then he grabs your soul and binds it keeping you as his prize.
He has no truth and his words are only lies.
He offers to give you freely cocaine, heroine, nicotine, and beer.
He uses these tools to create deception and fear
Once you are addicted he takes your soul and everything you have
He leaves you broken, sick and in despair.
However let me tell you of a man who can set you free.
He died for your sins on a hill called Calvary.
You cannot fight Satan alone
But the fight can be won by Jesus who still sits on his throne.
Don’t go from clinic to clinic depleting your families wealth
Don’t let guilt and depression keep you in darkness destroying your bodies health.
Call upon Jesus the one who can break the chains and set you free.
One drop of His blood paid the price for you and me.
Cry out to Jesus asking for deliverance and freedom from harm.
Tomorrow could be to late when the needle enters your arm.
Satan is still the master drug dealer and deceiver of all.
Oh but let me tell you about Jesus for He is the only deliverer and He is listening for your call.

Words flood my mind and have since I was a child. My mother and my great grandfather both wrote beautiful Christian poetry so I expect that is where my gift came into being. Each poem has been written with someone special in mind. All poems can be read by anyone. It is a website for the young and the old. I hope you will take some time and read one of my poems. God bless each one who spends time here. You will be blessed as you share the site with others.

The Pills!

THE PILLS

My names are pills like Oxycotin, morphine, Xanax or Roxicodone to name just a few.
I destroy homes and tear families apart,
I take your children and that is just a start.
I’m more costly than diamonds, more expensive than gold.
The sorrow I bring is a sight to behold.
If you need me, remember I’m easily found.
I live all around you, in your schools and in your town.
I live with the rich and I live with the poor.
I live down the street or maybe next door.
My power is awesome; try me you’ll see.
However if you do, you may never break free.
Just try me once and I might let you go,
If you try me twice and I’ll own your soul.
When I possess you, you’ll steal and you’ll lie.
You do what you have to just to get high.
You will find pleasure in my narcotic charms.
It will be worth the tracks in your arms..
You’ll lie to your mother and you’ll steal from your dad.
When you see their tears, you should feel very sad.
But you’ll forget your morals and how you were Godly raised,
I’ll be your conscience and I’ll teach you my ways.
I take kids from parents and parents from kids.
I turn people from God and separate them from friends.
I’ll take everything from you, your looks and your pride.
I’ll be with you always, right by your side.
You’ll give up everything your family and your home.
I’ll destroy your friends, spend your money so you will be all alone.
I’ll take and take, until you have nothing more to give.
When I’m finished with you you’ll be lucky to live.
If you try me be warned this is no game.
If given the chance I’ll drive you insane.
I’ll ravish your body and I’ll control your mind.
I’ll own you completely and your soul will be mine.
I’ll give you nightmares while lying in bed.
I’m the voices you’ll hear from inside your head.
I’m the sweats, the shakes and the visions you’ll see.
I want you to know these are all gifts from me,
I’ll tell you it’s too late and you’ll know in your heart
That you are mine and we shall not part.
You’ll regret that you tried me, they always do.
However you came to me, not I to you.
You knew this would happen.
Many times you were told.
You challenged my power and chose to be bold.
You could have said no and just walked away,
If you could live that day over, now what would you say?
I’ll be your master and you will be my slave.
I’ll even go with you when you go to your grave.
Now that you have met me, what will you do?
Will you try me or not? Its all up to you.
I can bring you more misery than words can tell.
Come take my hand, let me lead you to hell.

Carole’s Song

I hope you all remember me and with a smile upon your face.
I’ve always been told that no other person could take my place.
Mark and Eric I love you with every fiber within me.
As long as you live a part of me will still live on happily.
It is a difficult being a single mother
I know I’m made lots of mistakes I wish I had not made.
But my love for my family through hot coals of fire I would wade.
I’ve been very sick, this ole body is wearing out.
But when I leave this earth I’m going up with a shout.
Satan could not hold me, nor death my soul claim
You see I am a blood bought child baptized in Jesus name.
Think of me fondly but know I’m with my family I’ve missed so much.
Carried by wings of angels Oh my what a blissful touch.
There is Mama, Daddy, Papa, and Phyllis my sister all waiting for me.
Miss me but know I’m with Jesus and my family…..
But most of all I’m free.

An Angel Made of Flesh and Bone

I knew him as a tall man who loved his friends and family so.
He was proud of them and wasn’t ashamed to let everybody know.
His heart ached when he thought of one needy or soul lost.
He was proud to be a Christian regardless of the cost.
I am a poet and a writer who pens words of art.
I am not the gentle soul David was but proud to have been a small part
The part who loves his fellow man as a sister and a brother.
Let David’s memory live in our hearts and mind’s like no other.

He was the perfect example he left for all of us to follow.
He was the giver and now he flies with the angels far past earthly swallows.
He was truly my best friend and I will miss him so.
I’m sure his works will continue like a velvet rose to grow.

The Lord built a special mansion and He built David a special balcony.
He allows him to look over that heavenly balcony and see
We are trying to fill his great big shoes and winning lost souls still.
Let him see we are still worshiping Jesus and trying to do His will.

When I close my eyes at the end of the day.
Let me see his big smile when I kneel down to pray.
Keep him and all the others in perfect love until
The Word of God has been completed and all prophecy fulfilled.
